  • Just Safe

California has seen a wave of “tough on crime” narratives that threaten recent progressive wins on criminal justice. Emergence partnered with Californians for Safety and Justice to develop “Just Safe” – a campaign to promote the idea that safety means investing in mental health, housing, and drug rehabilitation centers, rather than police and prisons.

  • We The People

    ACLU

The American Civil Liberties Union has been fighting for the rights of all Americans since 1919. In 2016, Emergence created the “We The People” campaign to fight against an onslaught of racism, xenophobia, homophobia, and prejudice.

  • Time Done

    Alliance for Safety and Justice

In anticipation of Florida’s 2018 ballot initiative to grant voting rights to people with past felony convictions, the Alliance for Safety and Justice sought to highlight the many barriers and restrictions that people face upon release from prison. Emergence developed “Time Done,” a multi-channel campaign and community platform telling human stories that inspire empathy.

  • Progress Not Prisons

    Californians for Safety and Justice

In 2020, Californians voted on Proposition 20, a ballot initiative that sought to increase prison spending and re-categorize certain misdemeanors as felonies. Emergence created a multimedia campaign to convey the catastrophic consequences of such policies. Since Prop 20’s defeat, “Progress Not Prisons” has continued to further the dialogue on ensuring public safety through sensible and humane reforms to the criminal justice system.

  • Supporting Immigrants, International Students, and Refugees

    World Education Services

In recent years, WES has embraced a social enterprise model, expanding its social impact efforts in response to evolving attitudes toward immigration. As they prepared for their 50th anniversary in 2024, they were eager to communicate their new approach and tie together the many facets of their work.

  • Growth Engineering

    Global Development Incubator

GDI needed to differentiate themselves in a crowded space of consulting firms and NGOs, tackling the siloed nature of international development and social impact. Emergence engaged with a broad set of GDI partners and stakeholders to understand the core value proposition, landscape, and strategic insights.

  • Blending Global Finance

    Convergence

The World Economic Forum, The Government of Canada, Dalberg Global Advisors, and the Global Development Incubator partnered to create a new digital platform to attract private sector investors to international development opportunities. We developed a full brand strategy and visual identity, from name and logo to web design, launch video, and print collaterals.
